1.45pm Tom Langshaw Trio
The Tom Langshaw trio are 3 of Swansea most up and coming Jazz musicians : Thomas Langshaw - Piano, Ewan Haines-Davies - Bass and Rhys Roberts - Drums. A swingin' set of Bebop featuring the compositions of Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk.
3.30pm Afternoon in Paris - Hot Club, Gypsy Swing Jazz, Latin and a little bit more!
Fronted by clarinet, bass clarinet and vocals in many languages, the widely appealing sound of Afternoon in Paris is delivered with a heartfelt and irresistible joie de vivre. Join this exuberant fusion of four brilliant musicians on a musical journey from the jazz clubs of Paris and Hamburg to the grand cafés of Eastern Europe, Cuba and beyond - from Latin to Swing to Klezmer and Pop, Dig out your dancing shoes we defy you to keep still - or just sit and enjoy an evening of great music.

6.45pm Jazz Workshop with Alan Barnes (PLEASE CALL AND BOOK)
Alan Barnes is a prolific international performer, composer, arranger, bandleader and touring soloist. He is best known for his work on clarinet, alto and baritone sax, where he combines a formidable virtuosity with a musical expression and collaborative spirit that have few peers. His range and brilliance have made him a “first call” for studio and live work since his precocious arrival on the scene more than thirty years ago. He broadcast regularly over a ten-year period with the BBC Big Band and Radio Orchestra and has toured and recorded with big band leaders, Dick Walter, Kenny Baker, Bob Wilber, Don Weller, Stan Tracey, Mike Westbrook and John Dankworth
8pm Alan Barnes with Dave Cottle Trio
Dave Cottle : Piano, Alun Vaughan: Bass, Paul Smith: Drums . A vastly experienced trio of professional musicians who have a wealth of experience accompanying 100’s of Jazz artists from all over the world and can play many different styles. Renowned as one the best jazz trio’s in the UK all can sight read music to an extremely high standard and each are renowned Jazz improvisors.
9.45pm Li Harding/Gary Phillips Band
Li hails from Tiger Bay and is well known for her dynamic and unique interpretations of songs in many genres including jazz, rhythm and blues, soul, gospel and Latin styles by artists such as Etta James, Billy Holiday and Amy Winehouse. Li and the Band will be playing a special programme paying tribute to the great black lady singers of jazz, blues, soul, gospel, rhythm and blues; including Dinah Washington, Ruth Brown, Dakota Staton, Big Mama Thorton, Wynona Carr, Sister Rossetta Tharpe and of course our very own Shirley Bassey.
Gary Phillips is one of Wales most versatile Guitarist, leader of the Amigos Gypsy Orchestra. Gary plays styles from Flamaeco/Cuban to Jazz/Blues and Funk.
SUNDAY June 9
12pm Constellation Big Band
Constellation Big Band was formed circa 1973 and was originally known as ‘Joe Berni Dance Band Neath’ The band originally consisted of musicians who played in bands during the 1939-45 war years and post-war years, who came together to once again enjoy the pleasures of playing music that they loved. The band recreates the sounds of the Big Band era with music from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton and many more. We also pride ourselves in having a vast array of music to accommodate all genres of musical taste and style
1.45pm Sarah Meek/Guy Shotton Quartet
Cardiff based jazz vocalist Sarah Meek hails from Cheshire, a graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama has performed for various venues around the UK and abroad. Pianist Guy Shotton has performed all over the UK and Europe and at venues in both the Middle East and USA. Alongside performing, he has worked as Assistant Musical Director with the Bristol Hippodrome Choir. Expect great Swinging Jazz Standards plus some unique arrangements of New Songs from Sarah
3.30pm Guardalavaca De Cuba
Hot Brass and Percussion to round of the afternoon with Cuban, South American, Latin and Samba. Dance away the last excesses of the weekend with this fabulous South Wales based 8 piece band. The band was only formed in 2016 and has been a big hit at the recent Swansea International Jazz Festival . Arrangements for the band written by Band leader saxophonist Dick Hamer
