(Hamish Stuart 9.15pm – 11.15pm, 2 sets)
Glasgow-born Hamish Stuart shot to fame in the 1970's as the falsetto voice and guitarist of the AVERAGE WHITE BAND, his distinctive song writing and vocal and guitar style helping pave the way to AVERAGE WHITE BANDS extraordinary worldwide success.
After AWB split up Hamish spent the rest of the 1980's touring, writing and recording with a galaxy of soul legends, including DIANA ROSS, ARETHA FRANKLIN and GEORGE BENSON. During this period of his life Hamish also worked in the Studio with a number of high-profile soul artists, like JEFFREY OSBORNE for whom he co-wrote and produced "Soweto"; like CHAKA KHAN for whom he arranged and played on the debut hit single "I'm Every Woman" and then co-wrote the US No.1 "Whatcha Gonna Do for Me?" and its follow up "If Your Heart Isn't in It"; like ATLANTIC STARR for whom Hamish wrote and produced their debut hit and like DIANA ROSS and THE TEMPTATIONS, who recorded Hamish Stuart songs during the 1980's.
However, in 1988 Hamish went through a major change of direction when he was invited to become the cornerstone of PAUL MCCARTNEY’s 1989 -to -1993 record-breaking touring and recording band, criss-crossing the World and recording five Albums with McCartney, including Paul's last UK No1 Album "Flowers in the Dirt" and the first-ever "MTV Unplugged" Album. After McCartney stopped touring at the end of 1993, Hamish re-located from Los Angeles to London where he has since pursued all manner of musical escapades encompassing solo Albums with his regular "HAMISH STUART BAND" and with his respected collaborators Jim Mullen, Pino Palladino and Ian Thomas as "JIM JAM". From time to time Hamish can be found making typically stunning guest vocal appearances at Events like QUINCY JONES' 64th Birthday party and with BONNIE RAITT and with MICHAEL MCDONALD at the Royal Albert Hall.

‘As far as I am concerned there can never be too much Lee Gibson…whether she is singing with the BBC Big Band or Holland’s vast Metropole Orchestra, or with a simple jazz trio, she lights up any song with her musicality.’ (The Observer).
‘World-class British jazz singers are a rare breed at the moment, but Lee Gibson is certainly one of them. She continues to go from strength to strength, both on record and in person. While Cassandra Wilson leads the female vocal field in America, Lee Gibson has comparable status in Britain.’ (Manchester Evening News).
Lee Gibson is a ‘jazz vocal sensation’ (The Independent). A nationally and internationally acclaimed singer who has delighted critics and fans alike with her wonderful voice, innate sense of swing and dynamic stage presence. ‘She is that rarity, a swinging singer who has also reached the highest standards of musicianship.’ (Time Out).
‘Subtle…sensuous…joyful…musical’ (The Stage). A superb, charismatic performer with a reputation for excellence that pulls in the crowds, her live appearances regularly set venue attendance records.
In addition to being one of the UK’s premier jazz performers, her talent continues to be recognised internationally. In 2004 festival and concert appearances in the USA in May and South Africa in July were followed by a further visit to the USA in December. Lee appeared at the Desert Big Band and Jazz Party in Palm Springs, California and at The Orleans Casino with the Ken Peplowski Big Band on New Year's Eve.
Lee appeared with the multi award winning Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra at the opening night concert of the IAJE conference in Toronto in January 2003 in front of an audience of 7,000. She is regularly featured in broadcasts on BBC Radio. A 'live' performance with the BBC Concert Orchestra in January 2004 was repeated in November and there was a further broadcast with the Concert Orchestra in March 2005.
As well as working with her own trio and quartet, Lee is a highly respected and accomplished big band singer. In Europe she has recorded and starred with The Netherlands Metropole Orchestra in Holland, The UMO Jazz Orchestra in Finland, The WDR Band and The Francy Boland Band in Germany and the marvellous Danish Radio Band (conducted by the late great Thad Jones) in Denmark.

Brian Breeze received his first guitar for his 13th birthday and started playing gigs in South Wales in 1962. A seminal moment was when, at 14 years of age, his band supported Johnny Kidd and The Pirates at the Ritz Ballroom in Llanelli; this was when he first heard the great rhythm & blues guitarist Mick Green, who inspired the young Brian to start playing blues as well as rock.
Since then he has played in many bands in many European countries. He achieved minor chart success with The Untamed in the mid-1960s, then replaced Jim Mullen when he joined Cream lyricist Pete Brown. He has toured with Maggie Bell, Deke Leonard, Lyndsey Muir and many others. He began to write for television in the early 1980s and has since gone on to write the music for films, documentaries and many other TV programmes, while also working as a musical director and session player over recent decades.
Brian still performs live as a guitarist and vocalist, working with various different combinations of musicians, playing a mixture of jazz, blues and R & B. He will be performing at the 2008 Mumbles Mostly Jazz and Blues Festival with a powerful ensemble, which will includes Mumbles born Richard Cottle on keyboards and sax.
Richard is a record producer, arranger and writer. He has performed and toured the world with the likes of David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Peter Frampton, Maxi Priest and Mike Oldfield.
